Announcing The 2022 “Cierra Roofing Grant” Recipient
Georganna Edmonds and her family were the honorary recipients of the first-ever “Cierra Roofing Grant” in Northwest Indiana. What a special moment for the Edmonds family, DMG Exteriors, and Fighting Cancer Today. Anita Johnson (Co-Founder of Fighting Cancer Today), Damien Gass (CEO of DMG Roofing), and The DMG Exteriors Team honored the journey Georganna has walked since being diagnosed with breast cancer while facing other health and life changes.
DMG Exteriors and Fighting Cancer Today partnered in 2021 to provide one new roof annually to an eligible cancer patient in Northwest Indiana in honor of Cierra Johnson’s (Founder of Fighting Cancer Today) ongoing battle with breast cancer. On May 13, 2022, the two forces met the recipient (Georganna) at her home in Northwest Indiana to bring this partnership and initiative to life. It’s inspiring how something so devastating as cancer can bring such beautiful people together to accomplish amazing things for those affected by cancer.
Fighting Cancer Today is humbled to partner with DMG Exteriors and fight cancer in this way. We are happy to share that the roof was successfully installed in June. Here is what Georganna had to say about the entire experience: “I cannot thank you enough for drawing our name for the Cierra Grant for the new roof. I am forever grateful for your kindness and help. If it were not for your grant, my husband would have had to do this himself this summer. DMG could not have been any kinder and giving, and I don’t know how we can ever repay you and them for your kindness. I would like to discuss giving some time to your charity once I get thru this rough patch. Please let me know how I can help. Thank you again so much.”
